Quilt Survey Results sorry if this is a repeat

Actually posted this about five hours ago and it never showed up, so if this is a repeat - sorry!

I am not getting all posts on my server, which is making some of the threads REAL interesting (confusing, but interesting! lol)

If 27m quilters spend $3.3b, that's only about US$125 per head a year!

OK! So who's not pulling their weight over there? I don't know any quilters who ONLY spend that much a year. That is not even the cost of materials for one quilt. I recycle like made here, but if you factor in thread, needles, etc - that doesn't seem much to me. About US$2.50 a week.

I have always asked the same question. Who are they interviewing for this survey? I asked a friend who works for the same company that owns Quilters Newsletter and he said that small amount does not include us diehard quilters. Even his response doesn't make any sense.

If I *ever* got through an entire year without spending several times that $125.00, I would take my temperature and go see the doctor. Heck, I spend that much on one S.E.X!!!!

Maybe the statisticians meant we spend an average of $125.00 per year over each quilter's lifetime. If I divide what I have spent on fabric/quilting accessories by 62 years, $125.00 per year might be about right. But I didn't start quilting till I was more than 50 years old.........how about the quilters who start out very young?
