quilters sun signs

I'm Virgo and the first half of mine is exactly right. Yes, I am over-pernickety (sp?)- it isn't that I consciously strive for perfection, rather that I'm irritated by my own imperfections. One wonky stitch and I pull it out. I don't want to notice others' mistakes, I don't search for them, but can't help seeing them.

However I can't calculate the amount of fabric - I don't do sums!! and quilting didn't come into my life until I was over 60, although I have always sewn, embroidered and appliqued

Mine said I have only one project on the go at a time, so she hasn't met this Sagittarius quilter.... Oh, and I can't quilt with friends or family, so I'm a lone quilter by default.

This is only partially me. I do enter quilts in competitions (our local show), I do hang quilts on the walls instead of sticking to bed quilts, I don't limit myself to rich, dark colors. But the rest is pretty accurate.

Cancer - June 22 to July 22 Cancer makes quilts to please themselves not to showcase. They do appreciate compliments on their work but being timid they aren¹t likely to enter a quilt in a competition. They want their quilts to be practical and comfortable and aren¹t likely to hang one on the wall, but actually use them on beds. Being cautious they are most likely to stick to the traditional designs. They are not likely to add decorative touches, such as trims or whatnots. They believe that quilts are naturally beautiful and do not need embellishments. They love to use dark rich colours in their quilts considering these as more practical. When they discover a quilt shop they like, they become lifetime, loyal customers.

I'm Aquarius. The first part about being very gifted and doing very original quilts is not me -- maybe I have to start being more adventurous and creative. I think the rest of it is quite appropriate.

how fun! I'm both Leo and Cancer, being born at the end of the cancer cycle. I choose to claim the best qualities of both and throw out the rest!!

Scorpio is only partially me. I am a "relaxed quilter" and don't worry about small imperfections. However I do have many wip's as I go on to another interesting pattern. Aquararius is my daughter to a T. She is a lone quilter but offers me solutions and suggestions when asked. Good to have a quilting daughter nearby. Gwen/B'klyn.

I'm with you Sandy. I too am a "Cancer" but like to show my quilts, and I do make wallhangings. (There are just not that many bed quilts needed here in AZ.) I like traditional blocks and quilts, but done in "surprising" ways.... prefer brights to darks too. And love to add embellishments to wall quilts. Have lots to experiment with when I get myself more organized.

Another Gemini here. The reading is dead on as far as owning books, gadgets, gizmos, etc. are concerned. I actually have finished a few quilts but have an equal (I think) number of UFOs around here. I will definitely NEVER write a book, though :-)

I did get out of my comfort zone a bit this morning at a guild-sponsored workship with Mickey Dupre. It was a 3 hour workshop called "Permission to Play". The only supplies we needed were a couple ordinary #2 pencils and an eraser. She guided us through some drawing activities -- lots of fun. I'm not sure yet if any of those things will ever make it into any of my quilts, but one never knows....

I had registered for the workshop before reading the sun sign descriptions. I am not willing to spend a lot of money on class supplies for a project I'm not truly excited about, but the minimal supply list made this one attractive.
