Quilty me!

For the first time in AGES I get to do quilty stuff this afternoon.

For the first time EVER I get to join a quilting group!

Yay for me!

I'll report back after the meeting. Am on pins & needles waiting to go in about half an hour... Got to drag some kit together first...

It was fun to sit and play with ideas and fabric for a couple of hours. The ladies have decided to make Christmas Wall Hangings, and I thought this might be fun, never having done something like this. One of the ideas Anne (the teacher) brought along was a very simple three Kings one done by someone she knows. Another was a rather more elaborate idea from a Christmas card. It was much more my style, so that's what I shall do. The three kings on that one looked like those Orkney chess men. I gave mine different hats/crowns and beards! :)

For next time, I shall see what I can do... Maybe two different methods

- one bondawebbed and machine stitched, and one to be pieced and on a batting so I can quilt it properly...

Hm... Need to think about this a bit while I make a coat for a sister!

Not this time! I shall get some for the next meeting.

They usually meet every Monday afternoon. I won't make next week's meeting as I have a hospital appointment, and they aren't meeting the following week as the teacher can't do that week, but I shall make all the rest: it's On My Diary! :)

So glad you had a happy time getting together with quilty folks. As to making a coat for a sister, I just bought a new coat and I thought its problem would make you smile. Nobody would buy that coat and it really is a beauty. I wondered why the price had been reduced down to 10% of the tag. Funny. The coat has lots of buttons and they were stitched on right through the pockets and lining. Anyone who tried it on and didn't sew would think it was hopelessly flawed. I thought, 'I wish our Kate could see this.' Polly
