recession --- OT

driving along in my Mazda with the radio turned to "talk radio" the conversations were all about the business, workers, layoff IRA'S and all that bad n sad news. Then a caller talked about material (yes, as in cotton, etc) and the announcer said "Well, from what I've read, that's one department that hasn't seen a drop."

:)

And yes, I bought some material today though I had set out to only by a card. Just doing my part for the economy.

in that case, I did my part yesterday when I purchased backing for 2 quilts. earlier in the week I bought for another. I am making progress on the WIP/UFO stack. While I'm in the mood, I'm basting several quilts.

If you ever see me collecting aluminum cans along the side of the road, it will be to feed my fabric habit.

I can think of about 6,000 things I will cut back on first!

A couple in the UK collected tin cans, bottles and other 'rubbish' for recycling at their local supermarket. They raised enough money with the company's recycling policy to pay for first class airfares from New York on the return leg of their honeymoon!
