Thanks. That doesn't look/sound familiar. Maybe I remember seeing something someplace else.

You're right, Jessamy had two swaps started one was a scrappy/siggy swap and one just scrappy. I don't see any patterns in the file on the group so I will spend a few minutes going thru messages there and see if anything shows up.

Hi Mary try this link, it was one of the suggestions for the scrappy swap.

when you get to the link click on Nann's version. Shows it scrappy.

Thanks. Maybe the block I'm thinking of was posted someplace else.
Hi Mary,
I have looked back at the messages in that group and these were my suggestions: >

- no longer available online but I found this description of it:" But if you think of it as two different blocks each at 6" it doesn'tuse tiny pieces. Block A would be a scrappy 9 patch, with squares cut at 2.5" and a cream/white in two opposite corners Block B would be made from: One cream/white strip 6.5" x 2.5" One dark strip 6.5" x 2.5" One cream/white strip 4.5" x 2.5" joined to one 2.5" sq in any colour. Two each of blocks A & B would join together to give a 12" finished block very similar to those shown."
Have any of these jogged your memory?

Wouldn't you know it!! The block I had in mind is the pattern that is no longer available. I will save the picture and your instructions and maybe give it a go. Thanks, much.
Glad I could help. Maybe someone here downloaded the pdf of the full pattern? I probably did but my pattern directory got stomped on when DH did a back up of our home computer - always seems to happen to my profile :-(

The wayback machine has come up trumps!

And I went to my old desktop (DH uses it now) since I had a name and found it there. :) Since it's strip pieced, it should go fun and fast. Thanks again for the help.
Mary, I don't know what that block might be, but Bonnie Hunter has created many wonderful scrappy patterns.

And the Heartstrings Quilt Project is a Yahoo group for quiltmakers who like to make string blocks and charity quilts.
