Skin

Nope -- it's not OT. ;) I bought a Christmas gift for my hard-working Bernina. There are "skins" (press-on patterned overlays) available for some models of Bernina sewing machines, and I caved and bought one for mine. I'd originally planned to use a photo of my grandchildren, but fitting five onto the available space without one of them ending up with a huge "growth" on his/her forehead or somewhere was impossible. I ended up using a photo of my QI Bisou instead, and I'm really happy with the quality of the resulting skin! I've posted photos on my blog, if you'd like to see what I now sew with.

That is just SUCH a wonderful idea. Of course if Bisou lived here, I'd learn to stitch with that darling in my lap. My Bernina is a 440QE and I was thinking it didn't really have a place for a very special picture. Oh yes it does. Some times I'm tired; sometimes just plodding and uninspired. Since Mississippi has the painful record of the most premature births in our nation, I believe I need this precious reminder. Look at Rescuing Hug.

What a truly heart-warming image of those two babies. I have heard of several instances of one twin helping the other when one is larger and more well. So touching. Thanks Polly - my heart melted at the sight of that caring tiny arm. . In message , Polly Esther writes
