Sofa cushions question

Hello all,

I'm planning to make a sofa cushion for a friend in the US and since I don't want to go broke from the postal fees, I plan to give her only the cover. Of course I have to know what measurements are common in the US. If it was for a friend here in Germany, I'd just go to IKEA and get a cheap cushion there. Just let me know, even if it's in inch, which measurements are the most common and easiest to obtain over there, please. Thank you in advance!

U.

I am thinking that you are speaking of what's called a 'throw' pillow or 'toss' pillow - not that we throw or toss them. That is, meaning a pillow that is a happy decoration for a sofa (or chair) rather than something that has a support sort of use. If I'm following your plan, a standard popular measurement would be 16 or 20 inches square. Polly

Ah, see! I knew I'd get enlightened in more than one way contacting this group. ;-) Throw pillow - I'll remember that. And 16 or 20 inches is good. Thank you very much!

Don't be much concerned with exact size. Many stuffings available here and she can surely easily puff it full of any size you send. Pictures. We want to see. Polly

You shall, if only I'd get round to do it... She's been waiting for so long, but I feel she deserves something special. And since my mother's death last January, I feel so - I don't know. I lack a certain wingedness, perhaps, if you know what I mean. You'll get to see it, though, I promise.
