I took my Loud Log Cabin quilt to the high school football game on Friday to watch the sort-of-stepson's last game as drum major. Then I threw it in the wash because the stands were quite muddy. By halftime the players were so covered in mud that I couldn't tell the white uniforms from the dark green uniforms and the fog was rising so the players were anonymous shapes somewhere out there on the field. Weird experience.
I'm contemplating a very large pineapple block (just one block, 18" or so) baby quilt for a friend. She likes to dress all in black (once she painted her bedroom dark green) so I'm thinking that I'll make the block out of screaming tropical colors, frame it in some strips of dark colors with neon accents, and then back it with something tropical but with a black background.
contemplation does not take as much time from homework as actual quilting does
