Still Around although not often

Hi Everyone,

Thought I would check in with y'all. I have not been on RCTQ for a while but have kept up with some of your activities through FB. Have been crying since I found out that Pami lost her most heroic fight on Wednesday night.

I haven't done a lot of quilting lately, but the bug is coming back and the machine is out of the case and rearing to go. Had a great night of fabric therapy planned for Tuesday night but alas, that was not to happen. Turned into the worst V Day EVER!. Ended up at Urgent Care with chest pains. EKG was normal but blood pressure was knocking the roof off the room. GF drove me the 1000 yards to the hospital. The ER was so backed up with no beds that triage was taking place in the waiting area. Went to check my text messages to make sure that another GF claimed my dog only to find I left phone at Urgent Care and they closed as soon as I left. Was admitted to hospital and taken to room at 11:45 pm.

The last thing I had to eat was a bunch of celery at 4 pm so now I am starving and they won't feed me since I have to be NPO for the stress test in the morning. GF called in morning to say Urgent Care can't find the phone. Doc was getting slammed so did not get to me until late. They did not begin all the tests and stress testing until noon. I WAS STARVING. Celery does not hold you. Finally fed at 3:30. At

6:30 told I did not have a heart attack (YEAH) but have GERD. He said the shocking thing of it all was how super healthy my heart is. Got home at 7:00 pm only to find that my phone was stolen and they were able to bypass my 11 character phone lock password in less than 2 hours.

Now I have a new phone, feel pretty good when GERD stays under control and hopefully will get a rag quilt finished today.

Glad your tests came out as well as they did and you did not have a heart attack! Hope the doctor can get the GERD under control. Barbara in FL

Debbi, So sorry to hear about your trials - but all things considered, I'm glad to hear it was "just" GERD rather than a heart attack. I know how scary it must have been, though - BTDT with DH once, and once was enough!

Take care - and don't forget to post a pic of that rag quilt.

Debbi, sorry for all your misadventures- man, that stinks. But knowing your heart is healthy is a a very good thing. I've had GERD for ages and it's quite easy to manage, so good luck with getting that under control.

Roberta, you gave me a giggle- Baxter, The Gorgeous Puppy *did* eat my cell phone the other day! I left it on the coffee table and caught him red-handed crunching on it. (Thank goodness he hadn't pierced the battery yet!) So far that's all he's damaged and for a puppy just 2 weeks in a new home that's really good. I just wish he'd chewed my socks or something less expensive.

Yep, the dog ate it. Really- he did! ;-)

Thanks Roberta. Yes, the phone is a very small thing compared to everything else.

Debbie, sorry about all your trials and tribulations but very glad you have only a relatively minor issue to deal with.

Leslie, I can't even begin to tell you the number of things my labs have eaten! The highlights being a wall, watches, money, check register, bills. Can I tell you how many times I've had to have things reprinted or call people to find out bill balances with the explanation 'my dog ate...'. I feel like the proverbial kid going to school with the excuse that the dog ate my homework!

Oh my gosh! That is scary Debbi! I'm glad it is "only" GERD. I've had it for years & I keep it under control with meds. Celery is NOT the breakfast of champions! Good to know your heart has a clean bill of health though & now you'll have a baseline EKG on file.

What a nose bleed to lose your phone though. Glad everything is back to normal, sort of. Good luck with the rag quilt.

(I don't seem to get to RCTQ a lot anymore myself. I can't seem to keep my mouth closed when there is a need for a volunteer to chair a committee. I have to learn the art though or my DH is going to replace me:)

Oh Debbi, I am so glad your heart is well. Your hospital trip sounds like a nightmare but I am so glad that you survived it with fairly good results. Gerd a lot better than a bum heart. I keep an energy bar in my purse after learning with dh that ER trips might starve a person. I hope you are able to get back to enjoying sewing and feeling good too! Hugs, TAria
