Well. Not at the same time. After our near-miss car wreck, I had to either not use the SM or learn to use the foot control with my left foot. I was so happy to be able to sew a little bit that using my left foot wasn't that big a deal. Many moons ago, I knew that using the foot control with my left foot and the knee lift with my right knee would work better but I rejected that notion without really trying. You'll remember: I declared that I was Not ambifooterusted. I am - if I have to be. The blessing from being warped and tilted from some variation of whiplash is that I have learned to use the foot control with the 'other' foot .... and that this incredible skill allows me to do marathon quilting. Unless you've found a way to dig a hole in the floor of your sewing room, you sit a little bit crooked to use the foot control. If you can stitch with the right foot for a while and then swap to the left, you're being kind to your assorted body parts. At first, it's a bit like singing "God Save the Queen" with a toothbrush in your mouth but after a while, you'll learn. Try it. Polly
