Jumping in with both feet

I spent three hours (well, maybe closer to five) knitting tonight, getting started on the daughter's afghan. Relaxing, though painful to my fingertip ... I use it to push the needle back through. Perhaps my technique is faulty, but it's what I learned a kajillion years ago when I first taught myself to knit.

I have a feeling I'm going to have to be very careful that I don't completely ignore my counted cross stitch projects. I don't want them to feel slighted just because I've developed a new passion!

Hi Helen, I use my fingertip too. I've started to use a thimble to protect it. Took a bit of getting used to, but it works very well for me.

Hi Helen,

Just make sure that you get up and walk around, and not sit in one position too long while knitting. I'm the same way with my crocheting as you are with the knitting. Sure is habit forming. LOL

Hugs,

Nora

I actually went out and bought two different styles of thimbles. (Three, actually, as I chose the wrong size in one of them and had to go get a smaller one.) So now I'm off to experiment.
