The first quilt done on the treadle conversion

Here is a quick quilt made from leftover pieces of fabric from previously finished quilts. I made it for a soon to arrive baby of an in-law baby producing unit.( Niece & Husband). I did it entirely on the treadle conversion of the Bernina 1008 and had fun. Nothing like getting a workout while you quilt. I used a triple border stripe to fill out the size to conform to the baby quilt size ideal. 66 inches square. I am off tomorrow to have some minor surgery to correct an injury to my left hand that happened last year at this time. It will put me out of commission for a couple of weeks, until I get the bandage off. I will be back with renewed vigor at that time. If not before utilizing the hunt and peck system.

Amazing, John -- though I do know that lots of quilts have been made on treadles, it still boggles my mind.

Good luck with the surgery! :)

Yes I do believe it is aerobic in nature. I know I feel more tired after doing it for a similar amount of time that I would spend doing the same thing on the electric. Maybe I could open up a bunch of storefront sewing/weight loss clinics and retire. Oh wait, I am retired. I will have to rethink this.
