Wow Estelle, you have some beauties in there (shoebox I mean). I haven't been 'in there' for a while, and you have added a bit since my last visit. The Blooming nine-patch for yourself is wonderful. I really love it. The Kantha bag is gorgeous; but my favourite bag is the yin yang bag. You are clever.

no no, Estelle, thank you. i'd never heard of it til today so of course i had to google it, lol. its really clever and ever so simple. i've saved the link for later more extensive research. just looking at your dragonfly purse and as its dark its hard to tell how the front of it is done. looks a bit puffy...poofy...its sticks out?? could you splain what i'm look'n at on that purse please. :)) i'll keep staring at it til it makes sense, lol. just had a good long look thru your most recent uploaded pix. love those reindeer bibs, lucky babys to have those. what are 'recycled'?? hotpads. cute xmas trees, timtex or similar holding those upright?

i stared for the longest time at your purple, LIME and pink 'using some of my hugh (sic) batik collection' layout. i'm sure there is some easy way to do that block but beats heck outta me how it works. i wonder if you could briefly explain that to this idiot. :))

Yep. the Dragonfly bag has a large rosette of fabric with a little qrganza flower I made in the centre.Recycled from the boys jeans. I am planning to give them back to 3 ds as they love cooking! Just ironed on some soft interfacing I have. Dont know what I have had it for years. Made them in 3 sizes (bobbin holder. Paper clip holder and coffee cup) blanket stitched the edges and folded in half and stitched up the back. They just rest on top of each other. I plan on putting names on these for the table. Yes there is a lot of lime in the blocks. It goes so well with PURPLE. lol. I made up a sort of Alter steps with a fussy cut Batik flower in the middle and just the purple and lime on the outside. Cut them through the middle at an angle. Sewd them back with a little of adjustment up. Then cut at an angle in the other direction and did the same. They were then squared up to 14" I think. I might make 3 more to make it rectangular. It was one of the quickest easiest tops I have made.
