until Christmas - way OT

Ok - I was having fun - I never intended for the discussion to become so serious. I have no intention of opening my gift early but both Chuck and I have been having a lot off fun with the teasing. He's been getting a huge kick from everyone's 'not serious' responses and suggestions. So much so that when I emailed him the summary of all the suggestions, he shared them with everyone in the office and for the rest of the day, anyone who needed to drop by his office and talk to him addressed him as "the no good, cruel and unusual *!@*$". He came home laughing his head off. I REPEAT - I AM NOT MAD AT DH - I WILL NOT OPEN MY PRESENT EARLY - THIS IS A FUN THING!!!!

I figured as much ... you and yours sound much like me and mine!!

It could be worse for you, though ... one Christmas, he was SO proud of what he had gotten me that he'd tease me EVERY day for a month : "You are SO going to love what I got you!!" He even went so far as to pick up the (beautifully) wrapped gift and heft it and tell me how heavy it was ...

By the time Christmas morning FINALLY arrived, I was fair bustin' with anticipation!!! I've never been a rip-through-the-wrapping-paper kind of gal ... but I was THAT Christmas!! :)

Enjoy the playfulness, Music!!! You deserve it!! :)

Hugs!! Connie :)

(Now go tell your sweet hubby that you'll be a "good girl" and won't even think of touchin' that box - at least, not while you're in eyeshot!! :)

Before we were married, my now DH used to give names to presents he bought me for birthdays and Christmases (we were 'going out' for several years!). He would tease me and get me guessing way off track what the present was. One year he was teasing me about my having to learn how to feed it; and its being something I had always wanted, and so on, for weeks. I am a terribly gullible person (not a lot of fun to tease because I believe everything implicitly). So, by the time my birthday came, I was convinced that this present was a puppy. The contrast of the reality couldn't have been greater: when I opened the box, it was a garden soil sieve >g< I just burst out laughing - a bit relieved that it wasn't a puppy as I worked full time! but also with a sneaking bit of disappointment that it hadn't been >g< On the whole, I prefer non-surprises! Don't mind waiting ! . In message , Musicmaker writes

Ohhhh gosh......(blush)......... well - ya gotta admit that it's not entirely your fault that you were misinterpreted. It is next to impossible to build inuendos into black and white type. Okay, go and have FUN!

Thanks for clearing this up. I wondered at first...but then I thought....she has to be serious or she wouldn't be writing this here. You sure 'got us' without even trying : )

Goes to prove that voice inflection and facial expressions sure say 'more than we're aware of' in real life. Can I say : I'm relived that we DID take it the wrong way?
