Tues night update Fires and wind

Wind was somewhat less today around here, but still strong. At 6PM when I got home, temperature was still close to 90 degrees - absolutely unheard of. The red ball of fire was the Sun.

I do not know if this will get through. There are many disruptions to service of all kinds. They have closed the national forests around here, saying they cannot deal with any other issues right now. People have been displaced, and have no place to turn to. We are housing horse at the nearby fairgrounds. I am still having a lot of trouble breathing, but am not staying outside anymore than necessary. Our courthouse cannot filter the air enough and we all smell of smoke. And the A/C is not working real well to even circulate the air.

Many hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated, many hundreds of structures gone.

It came through Ginger. Thinking about all of you and offering prayers and positive thoughts for this to all be over and no more casualties.

Trying to find out if Marny [of Marny and Dale fame from years ago] is okay. So far, nothing. When I tried to send my message the computer locked up on me so figured my message had not gone through.

It is just horrendous, the devastation and loss.

Mom and Dad are safe. They are only 10 miles from me. I have let everyone know that I have 2 bedrooms available should they be needed. Last night I was a a meeting when a family (grandma, mom, daughter, baby and husband) all moved in as they lost their house in San Diego.

Prayers are going out to everyone.

Ok. Marny is safe, I got an email from her this morning, also from another gal who is not on here but on Carol Doak's PP yahoo! group.

Jean-baby's Karen is north of us, in the area around San Luis Obispo [about 125 miles north of me]

Latest count is 900,000 evacuated, 1200 homes destroyed, 45 injuries,

5 confirmed/8 more unconfirmed deaths. Acreage is about 250,000 amongst all the fires.

Temperatures today estimated 90 to 100 degrees, humidity around 8%, winds are anyone's guess. As you can figure, air quality is so bad. I am trying to find out if my ex-MIL is okay, at 94 yrs young [she lives not too far from me]

Prayers/good thoughts continue to be much appreciated by all here.
