Using invisible thread on a baby quilt

When this thread started I think she was making a wall hanging quilt. If that is true then invisible thread and heat and bond might be ok. But I would use neither for a baby quilt that the baby is going to use. I heard of a baby in the emergency room crying for hours, Dr. 's checked everything they could think of. Finally a Dr found a tiny clear piece of plastic in the infant's throat. SO tiny piece of invisible thread would be just as hard to see and/or find . A tiny piece of cotton thread wouldn't be such a problem Kay

Been there (for both!) My son made a kite (for geometry class one year). We "appliqued" a design on it of his fav music band using H&B Ultra. It didn't do well in the wind. So, like an idiot, I tried to stitch it down... Learned that if you keep an alcohol soaked cotton ball handy to wipe down the needle every inch or so, and if you liberally use a product called SewEase(?) squirted on the thread spool, it CAN be done in an emergency. I'm off to TSWLTH on Wed to buy some thread! Quilt update - have all the pieces heat&bonded to the background, so it's just to get thread and start stitching them down. Decided to use cotton thread for the applique, and maybe some rayon for Tigger's whiskers & butterfly antennae. ME-Judy
