Vintage fabric

Jun 22, 2010 2 Replies

Before I left Missouri, I was given a huge bag of all cotton fabrics. I have finally gotten around to seeing exactly what is in there. Several yardages so far but there are a couple in there that I'm not sure what I can do with.

This will be kind of hard to describe. All cotton, pink flowers all over but every 3-4 inches there is a channel the entire length of the fabric with holes in it. Not sure what this is called. What can I do with this type of fabric? Can it still be used as a backing? Send to Jill?

HELP?????

Do you think this was for making skirts? You would weave ribbon in and out of the holes for a 50's style gathered skirt? I'll be interested to see what the other girls think. Donna

Cindy, could you post a small picture? it sounds like a type of eyelet. amy in CNY
