Wanna see my GORGEOUS HUG quilt? ;-)

First I'm going to torture you with some bragging! VBEG I was looking for

2 nightstands for my bedroom since I'm doing some painting and making the new pansy quilt and draperies that's about to go into production. Welllllll.... I went into an antique shop this afternoon and found a vintage four poster bed, 2 chests of drawers and a nightstand. I bought it. All of it. For a measly $365!!!! I am sooooo excited!!! Then I spotted a vintage dress form- old and rusty metal and absolutely darling! It will look so cute next to my treadle sewing machine- when I finally get it out of storage and into my 'someday' new house. Maybe this spring???

Anyway, here's a photo of my VERY GORGEOUS and VERY PURPLE (just HEAVENLY purple!) and dearly loved HUG quilt.... and the 'vintage' dress form-

You may allow yourself to be pea-green with envy- over both of the GORGEOUS hug quilt and the dress form..... and my new/old four poster bedroom suite, too! ;-))))) Jeepers- this week has been one with the highest 'ups' and the lowest 'down'.....

OMG! What a find. That's the coolest dress form I've ever seen. Wonder how old it is? Your HUG is so beautiful, too.

That's a super quilt Leslie. So very glad you have it beside you at the moment. Glad of your highs - to do a bit of counter-balancing. You take care and snuggle under when you need to. . In message , Leslie & The Furbabies in MO. writes

Forgot one more thing this week hit me with- an abscessed tooth and a subsequent root canal. It still hurts since Tuesday's dentist appt. Ugh. Snuggle under the quilt with a toothache time!

WooHoo!!! Congrats on the lucky find! I just did my bedroom too -- but didn't find my bed for $365!!! You need to teach me where to shop!

The quilt is "purple-ific!!!" The dress form is so cool. However the waist and hips would need a little adjusting to be suitable for a skirt for me! Who has a waist that size?? I'd be curious -- what is the waist size -- my guess is about 18". Maybe Scarlett O'Hara could use it. But it makes a wonderful room decoration and you're right -- next to your treadle it'll be perfect!!!

Good guess, Kate! Her measurements are bust 34 (pretty average, I think), waist 21 (Scarlett O'Hara went for 18 inches, I believe- sheesh!!!!!) and hips- properly measured approx. 7 in. below the waist- is 44. That's a bit much in her proportions- but the closest one to my own measurements! LOL I sure as heck won't be using it for anything that I make for myself- unless I did some serious padding on that form!

Compared to average, the waist is small compared to the bust, but not by much, only a couple of inches. The hips are enormous though, some women carry fat that way, but not all that many, the hip measurement should be not too disimilar to the bust measurement, not 10 inches more!

Hey, some of us have big butts and not so big bozooms! LOL.

Seriously, Leslie you got great stuff and you deserve it all! I love the quilt and I'm properly green with envy over the quilt form and four-poster bed, etc.

Hugs, Sunny

Both gorgeous! And you're worth it! ;)

That is one gorgeous quilt, Leslie! The good folks in this group did you proud. Aren't they wonderful?

Kudos to the contributors and the quilter. You did a lovely job!

Don't forget to take the Hagen Daz Crème Brule (sp?) ice cream with you. Heaven!

Leslie, your quilt is just beautiful, but I just ADORE the dress form! What a great find!! Lucky you....... I'm pea green.
