Welcome my temporary QI!

We have borrowed a pooch for a week. Her name is Scamp, and she belongs to friends who are off to a folk/morris dancing festival for a week, after a wedding today, so as this isn't too far away and they couldn't get pooch friendly B&B or camping (and anyway, the pooch would have had to spend long hours in the car even if they had!), they left her with us for the week. She's quite content, as she has visited us with her people on several occasions.

She's a dark brown (bitter chocolate) Staffordshire/whippet cross (mostly!) with a white blaze on her chest. She has made peace with the cats (the Middle East could learn from this lot!), and is currently sharing the sofa with James, both cats, several cushions, and a pile of quilts, and a nice thick book!

Which one of them is reading the book? Polly

It may have been James, but I'm not betting on it. They were all looking at it.

Kate-

This may turn out to be dangerous... (VBEG!) Has James started asking for a dog yet? Cats are wonderful pets and I love my little Buttercup to pieces, but dogs and boys are a special combination. We had *seven* house dogs while my two sons were growing up. They were all large dogs over 65 lbs. except for a pair of mini long-haired Dachshunds. The Doxies had puppies and raised our canine count for a few months every year. My sons are now adults and still have a very deep affection for dogs- but neither is able to have one right now, so they love on my HairyButt Gang whenever they get the chance. And my dogs are very happy with this arrangement, too!

Glad the pooch has settled in peacefully and your kitties aren't too upset with your houseguest.
