Betcha you mainly end up using it right in your sewing room to look for dropped needles.

Check out Sew Unbelievable for your Juki. It comes with a $300 thread shopping spree from Superior Threads. (just a satisfied customer)

I bought it online from Joann.com for $599. It is $899 at Sew Unbelievable. Isn't that funny - $300 of free thread?

I just read the Juki descriptions at joann.com and had to smile. Here's one statement "a 1/4 quilting foot for free motion quilting " and another "auto needle stop to move the needle position ". Inexperienced sewists could get very confused with their goofy wording. They are not doing themselves any favors by having non-quilters/sewists write the sm descriptions! And, no, I am not in the market for another sm... I LOVE my Janome 6600.

Speed is good in some areas, I guess, but for piecing, applique and FM quilting, I don't go full tilt. I guess the speed doesn't really factor in it for me??? Most of the time I have the speed selector about halfway between full bore and super slow except when sewing width of fabric length strips together. Sorry you can't fall in love with your 6600.... mine is absolutely perfect for my needs. Bummer.

Part of it may also be a translation problem -- but any translation should also have been reviewed before it was published.

I have the 6500 and find the speed is much faster if I put the foot on a hard surface( I keep a piece of metal under the sewing machine table) and definately notice the difference if the foot slips off this and onto the carpet

Thanks Marion. I have tried everything I can think of. I can get the most speed with the darned foot upside down. I just wonder if I need to have it looked at. I seem to be the only one that thinks this model machine is a slug. Maybe there is a real problem. I have to say I got a Janome serger recently to replace my ancient Bernette one. It has been a real pleasure to use. It is wonderful! Taria

I have the telescoping wand that makes it easier for me to have nearby. No, it's not that near the SM but within arms reach. I sure wish it would pick up the plastic bobbins :)

Butterfly (my SM won't take metal ones.)

I hardly ever stitch or serge really fast but I do think it would be very annoying to have a sluggish SM. Wonder if it's something as simple as your foot control, foot control connection or the power supply to your SM? Polly

The only thing that I want/need that is quilt-related is "TIME" so that I can make some progress on several projects.

Hey, that's what I'm asking for too!!! TIME has just slipped away from me and I want some more of it!

I would like to be able to sit down and sew and get all my projects done and not have the clock move at all! Kind of like a "catch up"........
