Why so quiet?

Arizona doesn't change to Daylight Savings in the summer. No need. The real quest in Arizona in the summer is for enough cool (that means not searingly hot) hours to take a walk, a run, ride a bike, etc. By 9 a.m. most summer mornings it's way too hot to do anything but jump into a cooled pool. Pools often get too hot to use. Water has to be sprayed through the air to cool it. One summer when the boys were young, the kiddie pool at the neighborhood pool was closed because the water was too hot.

Howdy!

Just one of many studies and opinions that say DST doesn't work as intended:

where we run the a/c day & night during much of DST, it doesn'tsave anything, time or money. But SOMEone in another part ofthe country decided to extend it to the first Sunday in November - huh?!?As Barney Fife would say: Nip it! In the bud! Nip it IN THE BUD!

I'd just as soon not have any DST either. But it makes more sense to me th change the first Sunday in November rather than the last Sunday in October. At least it doesn't get dark quite so early for the trick-or-treaters.
