Not with Fairfield batting, Taria. I have worked with Hobbs wool, though, and it's lovely. :)

Why are you thinking of using wool for a Christmas tree skirt? We don't imagine that the tree needs the extra warmth. Are you just wanting to test out how quilting with wool goes or have you found a great price or what? Comes to my little mind - moths are quite fond of wool and Christmas tree skirts are stored more than they get to come out and show off. Just wondering. Polly

I was hoping it would be easy to handquilt. The size more affordable than a whole quilt for testing. It was on sale and I thought I'd just get wild and crazy. LOL I haven't had much in the way of moth damage here. (actually can't think of any, hope I am not jinxing myself by saying that) I'm sort of wondering too.

LOL! I know what you mean -- but wool breathes, just as cotton does, and there is such a thing as "high desert" (I used to live in one), where it gets *cold* at times. ;)

As for it being cool this week, I'm trying not to mention it too often for fear of someone hearing and turning up the heat. ;) We're loving having the coolest June in ages! :)
