Your American accent

Now this quiz reckons I've got a midland accent. While I've spent time in Pennsylvania and the other places where it says I'm from I reckon I'm more a southern gal. Leastways that's how I feel.

Okay, it said I was from Minnesota. This is quite funny, because I was born and brought up in Oregon... but even as a child people asked me if I was from Minnesota. When I started playing ice hockey, my fate was sealed. Everyone assumed I was from Minnesota or Canada. Maybe it's not too strange that folks still think I'm Canadian? Should I apply for citizenship? Can you hold 3 passports at one time?

Sorry, I had to try it one more time. I pronounce the word "bag" to rhyme with "vague" as a child .. even though it was obvious when I learned to read that this should not be so. That is, until I moved from a very small town to a big town at age 13 and all the other children laughed at this pronunciation! So I tried the quiz again, making "bag" not rhyme with "vague". That was the determining factor. When I changed that, it thought I was from the West, and in the "lowest common denominator" accent. Of course, I filled it in with my American accent, not the American/Scots one I have now.
