Zero detergent

Has anyone tried the new one? The ads demonstrate it with 2 bowls of water containing red/green dyes - one bowl has the 'zero for all colours' added and then 2 white polo necks are dunked - you can guess the results! The zero-added water doesn't transfer the dyes to the sweater while the other one is badly stained. If true, this would be a simple solution for pre-washing fabric and/or quilt laundry - yes/ no?? jennellh

Maybe it is only in Canada? It is a liquid cold water detergent for fine washables - sweaters, lingerie and the like. I don't know what the equivalent might be in the US. I don't usually pay any attention to commercials when the tv is playing but this one caught my attention

I tried Googling it and only got a process, not a product.

Swamp water goes good with fine Kentucky bourbon but it does not do well with Woolite. The combination takes out the black in DMC embroidery and it also makes pure white things turn a grubby gray. I'm thinking you would want to test Zero with some items that don't matter before you offer it a quilt. Polly

It also causes red DMC to run. There is/was a warning on their website about using it on red embroidery. And that's without the swamp water!

I have heard for years that Woolite is NOT a gentle detergent....seems like I've heard it has bleach or bleaching qualities to it. I would guess that's why your black embroidery floss turns gray.

Wow - blast from the past. I used to use Woolite back in the 50's and 60's to hand wash soft sweaters. I thought it was taken off the market. I always kept a little bottle of it in the linen closet or under the bathroom sink for those little, delicate hand-wash jobs. so it's back!

Never been gone.

Has at least three flavors these days: classic, washing machine, and "woolite for dark colors". Wonder if Zero has a new flavor it's equivalent to, or maybe is kin to the dark colors one?
