12X12 scrapbooking magazine

Well, I just ordered 2 back issues and the current issue of 12X12 scrapbooking magazine. I just wanted to see what it was like. I'll let everyone know what I think.

I personally like magazines. I like to flip through them over and over looking for ideas. When they get too old I'll tear out my favorite page ideas and recycle the magazine. I agree that magazines do get too fancy or too fussy with their LO's. Realistically, I wouldn't do most of the LO's the way they are in the magazine, but I'll take parts of them. I like to scrapbook pretty simply. I don't want to invest so much money in embellishments. I'd prefer to make my own in most cases. I have a friend that spent about $45 dollars in these little silk flower like embellishments. My first thought, which I kept to myself was why does she need so many flowers and what the heck is she going to do with them. She proceeded to go threw her whole album adding flowers here and there. It really made her happy. I secretly cringed at adding $45 to an album! But you know what she has the money to spend and why not. That's why I kept my lips zipped. :)

Lynne, I like you, am a bit of a magazine junkie - I agree paging through and seeing what others have done is inspirational and sometimes a heading or a embellishment will jump out and I will scraplift it - nice to see the new trends too, although many of them are a bit OTT for me. I would be keen to hear what this 12x12 mag is like as I have never heard of it before and am a bit hooked on Scrapbooking Memories which is an australian mag I believe...we get it here and it has given me many ideas over the years.

Have and abundant day!

Where are you finding the projects? I was looking and looking yesterday and only found some forums under projects.

Okay, I am clearly better at scrapbooking than I am at surfing the web, or at least more patient with it (lol). I have just visited the link you suggested Marilyn and can't seem to find the projects anywhere - when I click on projects it takes me into a forum which seems to be a type of newsgroup HELP PLEASE.

Click the More Info link under each mag and then look just above the box marked Prices (delivery included) The first three Vol 1's have none...so start from Vol 2 No 2 and do each in turn up the page. The links to the projects are marked Feature1 or Feature 2 and they are PDF files.
