Hmmm... the clip-it-up is a great idea... but with three active feline residents, it looks like the world's biggest chewtoy!

LOL! My kitties have never touched mine, but then Nuku and Radar are getting on in years and prefer napping to trying to swat at the things hanging off my 2 clip-it-ups!

If only I had the table space for the clip it. I'll do the bind it though.

The slit is about 1/8th of an inch wide and I stuffed in a piece of their chipboard covered on both sides with thick double sided cardstock, it cut it very easily.

Can you bind something say, 12 " long?

Reply to
Kenda

Yes you can. Either by binding it all the way down or by binding top and bottom. You can easily cut the metal coils with a wire cutter. Because they were thinking of scrapbookers their coils are actually 12 inches long which is great as you can easily cut them down to 6 or even 4 inches. I'll have to post the little 4x4 book I made using thie pages and coils and my bind-it-all machine.

I guess I should have asked how wide the chipboard can be. For instance, would I be able to bind a 6x6 or 8x8 album?

That clip it up product looks pretty cool and such a simple concept. I bet many people are kicking themselves over not thinking of it first.

Hi Carolyn,

I have had a Manual Comb Binding machine similar to the one shown in the link below for at least 6 years. You can certainly bind using this machine if you like the look of those plastic combs. It also will cut a few more pages at a time than will the bind it all. It is muchm much heavier and bulkier and will not bind using the metal coils. However it will certainly work for putting your childs things neatly together. The bind it all will also do the job but because it is narrower, it only does about 4 inches at a time and only a couple of pieces of paper. I really did deliberate about detting the mind it all rather than hawling the other big machine out of the garage. But my need for space, something that is lighter weight and something that gives my little books a newer, fresher look won out.

Also just a note on the combs. The bind it all combs are the only ones that are actually 12 inches long. The ones you will get in the office supply stores are 11 inches. So the Bind it all coils easily allow you to do 3, 4,

6 and 12 inch projects with little or no waste. That was something else I considered when choosing to go with the Bind it all. They will be coming out with a carrying case in July of thereabouts. I'm hoping that those will become available for me to pass on to you guys at a great rate as well.

Thanks for the extra info, M-C! I'm really leaning toward the Bind it all now! Let me think on it some more--we're leaving for Australia in a few weeks, and I may have to wait until after we get back.
