Any opinions on the use of Copic Markers?

Hello! I was wondering if any of our members have used the Copic Markers that are supposedly all the rage now? They are permanent and alcohol based, they dry acid free, and they are double ended and are refillable, and they also have replaceable nibs. I would like any opinions anyone has on the quality of them, and if they are worth the money..yikes!! I found one place selling them for $50 for a set of 12 and they have over 300 colors! I did some reading on them and a lot of cardmakers and scrapbookers are using them in their work. I do think their colors are very vibrant and the blending capablilities are awesome, from what I have read and on projects i have seen online. I'm sure there are some better deals out there, but i havent really looked for them. I am more curious than anything..I have used the Marvy brush markers and SU markers with no problems. What do you think? Over priced or worth it?

Thanks Marilyn The lines from coloring large areas and overlapping from the Marvy markers are actually one of the reasons why i was interested in the Copics. I just dont like the price of them! :) I have used watercolor pencils for shading and then blend them with a waterpen, but I dont like the wetness for cards.

In that case...why not try using Prismacolor Premier pencils. You colour in the same way as with an ordinary colour pencil and then use Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirit and a blending stump to blend and give shading. Here is a youtube video using Sansador, UK's version of Gamsol.

BTW...I have used ordinary colouring pencils the same way. Cheaper than thePrisma but not as much colour pigment.
