Beads in your Scrapbook ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ways to attach beads:
Use a fine gauge wire to string beads on Sew them on, use thread, embroidery floss or clear jewelry cord. Also try fishing line for a virtually clear attachment. Tie beads on using ribbon. Xyron your paper and sprinkle on beads Terrifically Tacky Tape works good with beads.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Protecting your pictures from beads:
Add something else bulky, yet soft to the beaded page to give it a cushion. Try pop dots, a shaker box or corrugated paper.
Use very small beads like seed beads or bugle beads so your page will lie fairly flat.
If you use larger beads, store your pages in albums that will be stored standing upright.
Only use larger beads on pages where you have duplicate photos incase they cause any problems with the photo quality over time.
Choose beads and charms that are of good quality. You don't want your charms to tarnish or rust!
Put a layer of foam between beaded pages during storage.
Try making paper beads for the look of beads without the bulk. There is an article describing how to do this in the May 2001 Creating Keepsakes.
Make sure your charms and beads are not pressing into a photo on a facing page when you close your album.
