dang.. i should have remained quiet... i love a man in uniform and better yet on a horse... they have such snazzy outfits and cool hats.

I did do some shopping, didn't find anything whoohoo.. and fantabulous though. mostly due to the sake that it's all in the stores here before it hit the Expo... BUT I did find some things so you'll just have to wait to see them.

BTW.. the date changed to Nov 21st. I just couldn't do everything in one week. Dress still needs to be made, and halloween is still creeping up so there's an outfit for that too in the works. One of these days I'm gonna learn to say no to making stuff up for others. And as Nikki is probably right when she says it's gonna be when i'm dead, even then I'll probably be up in heaven sewing wings on everyone.

Thank you Tabitha. When I lived in Texas we didn't have fall either. I'm glad to be back where there are colors.

Your welcome. That's the only thing besides friends and family that I miss about Ohio.

Me too :( Texas doesn't have seasons like they did when I was growing up in Ohio... :( I sure do miss those days of playing in the leaves... Just glad I wasn't old enough to rake them for very long!!! :)

Maybe one day my DD will get to see the leaves change color. I don't plan on leaving Florida, just visiting family :)

I know where Elkins is too! Mama & Papa lived in/was from Portsmouth, OH. Mama told me stories of ridin' the train and the conductor would say "Ear-t-un" for Ironton. Someone else said they were from Ohio? I went to and graduated from school up ner Mt Vernon. Boy talk about reminiscing!!! Fall was goreous back there and they HAVE seasons! Eastern Oklahoma has beautiful country too! All my real paternal and maternal family was from around Dayton and Sidney area. For those who know/were from Ohio, do ya 'member Rike's department stores? They were kin somewhere way down the line. anyhow Lazurus bought them out in the early 80's.

My family is all from Ohio (although most now live in Texas, with the exception of my maternal grands who are holding out and live in Westerville outside Columbus. I spent most of my childhood there and sure do miss the fall... But not the winter!!! I love sitting outdoors on Christmas day in short sleeves (or at least shirt sleeves!). My family is mostly from the central OH areas and my paternal grandpa was born in Circleville, home of the Pumpkin Festival. Can't say that I remember Rike's, but then again, I'm not too old I guess :) My stepmom is from the southern part of OH (Springfield, East Liverpool) so I guess we're all from there really (even though I was born in Texas while Dad was stationed here)... Anyway... you can view some of the old time Ohio photos on my website at

LOL... has she seen snow? Now, that was a big deal for a friend of mine's kids when we took our trip up north a couple of years ago. They'd never seen it and just had the best time!
