Thank you Mindi. I had to have something to do to keep my mind off my sister in Newport News till the storm passed her, and scrapping fit the bill.

Susan,
Yes she fared it fine. They had planned for as much as possible. She almost made it without losing her food, all thawed 1 1/2 day before power was restored, so they had a huge cookout and gave the food to some of the people without grills, so they could have hot meals. Most of the area is back to normal. Are you on Langley? How are you all doing?
Thank you about the pages.

I'm amazed at the length of time it's taken to get to the point it's at. We got phones back yesterday only to discover a neighbor we don't know has our number ringing there and theirs ringing here. At least I can get online LOL Our family knows our cell # if they need us badly. The last numbers I heard for the town I live in without electricity was 20%... hopefully it's nearly all up today. We had folks from Louisiana working here in town this week on the electricity.
We actually live in Poquoson and did ok. We were really fortunate and thank God for it. Friends of our on Langley, on base housing, had water in the basement. Friends in off base base housing had no problems, minus some trees lost or losing branches. Some guy I guess is upset he lost stuff in the basement (like PICTURES!)... I'm sorry... we had 5 days warning so one should have thought to move the crap out of there.
The neat thing about base? Supposedly some porpoises were up on the flight line during the storm looking for dinner! Haven't seen pics but the base paper talked about it as a fact. The flight line is just 11 feet above sea level and had flooded out. The base paper had amazing pics - I need to grab one to put away.
Thanks for asking :) We're fine and off to a concert tonight and even found a sitter. Thankfully the kids didn't have to start tomorrow, but on Tuesday. :) Susan in HRVA AF Wife to David Mom to CG, my angel Gareth, and Matthew
