Camera Question

Its an off brand... really no support for them... should be fine for a while.. next time buy name brand tho........

Cobra certainty isn't a fly by night company, although they are usually associated with scanners, security camera's and other electronic equipment rather than digital camera's, it is a company that is well known and stands by their products. I see it like choosing between Timberland and Coleman hiking boots, Coleman is associated with camping equipment more than shoes but it is a solid company that will stand behind it's footware products because they bear the Coleman name. I would expect no less of Cobra Electronics.

I only think of it this way... We all know Ford vehicles and that they have been building them forever... so obviously they know about air conditioning since thier vehicles have ac right? but why would I buy a ford ac when I can get a carrier for a little more that is rated so much better? Knowing that carrier stands behind their products and isn't new to the industry? I know thats a weird comparison but I've seen so many companies try to branch out into other things and fail. Cobra has tried to do all kinds of things and I'm not impressed with their stuff (know that I do this for a LIVING...). If you want a good digital that will give you good photos, stick with what is known. Remember you get what you pay for.

The funny thing is I thought I had wrongly misperceived what you had written in a negative way and then reconsidered my implusiveness at responding and apologised. You have now gone on to not only confirm my gut reaction was right on target but to further illustrate that you really are not a very nice person when you feel your authority as an expert in all matters is questioned and resort to threats. You can be the alpha female in this group, I don't see anyone else here that seems to want to step into that role, so take a deep breath and relax.

No this isn't the place and I realized I should have kept my remarks to myself and followed it with an apology, but Ms. Ronni couldn't leave well enough alone. I have been reading here for a year and posting about 6 months and lo and behold the only other disagreement I have had here was with Ronni. At that time she informed me she made her living as some kind of computer expert. Today she makes her living in photography. A couple weeks ago she was starting school for it. Just let me say that I am a co-owner of one of the most successful studio's in NYC. My husband is a very successful photographer and I have yet to see him belittle anyone's camera. When asked for advise he takes the $10 35mm a Cub Scout shows him as seriously as the $10,000 camera some rich kid working a photography merit badge brings in and he sets his goal on helping the other get the best that they can get from their camera. A brand name camera is going to make anyone take perfect pictures if they lack the ability and eye for it. Perhaps his example has lead me to see something lacking in someone that sees fit to belittle rather than to encourage someone, r perhaps my husband and the photographers that work for him are just nicer people.

I have no desire to take it offline, I have better things to do with my time than arguing with someone who threatens those that disagree or criticize that they will be added to her "shit list". I'm sorry but that is about the most assinine thing I have been threatened with in a long time and couldn't help myself from responding to the very absurdity of it.

Well yea.....I will try to remember to count to ten a few times before hitting send in the future. I enjoy reading in this group and it is like anything else, you have to take the good with the bad. For the most part Ronni makes positive posts and is helpful and I shouldn't lose sight of that. Thanks for the reminder.
