Chalked Die Cuts

Hey all -

In reading several different threads, I've seen a few references to chalk die cuts, or chalking edges when tearing paper. I am not familier with these items/techniques. What is a chalked die cut? Would anyone have a layout I could see using one?

What are the benefits to "chalking?"

Chalking gives character and depth to a die cut.
