Fall Fires 2003

I put a couple pictures up of the fire closest to me, as it looks right now from my bedroom window. If you click on "view full size" at the bottom of the pic after you get to the album and wait for the picture to load, you can see the flames a little. At night it looks very ominous, with the whole mountain lit up like a fireplace. I am going to scrap the event just because it is unlike anything I have ever seen before. star2fire

I'm in Redlands. Where are you? School is out for the students tomorrow here (Wednesday) but teachers still have to go in. That's ok. I need a good work day to get stuff done. So far, I am not in danger. However, the road past my house is FULL of campers and every other thing getting out of big bear. The road here is the only way out, and man, that traffic is unlike anything I have EVER seen. star2fire

My prayers and thoughts are for ya'll out there. I wondered if anyone here in the group was from out there. I hava lady friend and her family in Rancho Cuchamanga that I went to school with and WAS neighbor. Then I have another friend and her family in San diego. I can't get ahold of either one and haven't heard from them. I worry that they might be in the evac areas at the least. It really is bad and I saw it outthere three years ago I think when it was bad too. Was also in Montana two years ago when it was bad there. Take care and be careful!
