Gals,

I wish I would have joined this swap. All of the layouts turned out great. I have tell you that I didn't know anyone else in the world new about "Dogitos". I have made something similar since I was a kid only we called them Mexican Hot Dogs and we put mayo and salsa on them. "Dogitos" is a better name. LOL.

Hi Diana,

For my son's 7th birthday my husband suggested the Dogitos. I had never heard of them. Now my son and his friends are 13 and whenever they are over for his birthday they request Dogitos. I love to cook and would like to do something else, but why spoil what's become a tradition.

PS. The new recipe requested for breakfast after a sleepover... chocolate gravy. haha It's so cute to have these boys asking for a recipe, so their mom's can make it at home for them.

When I was a kid my brother and I were staying at my Great Aunt Imogene's house for a few days. One morning she asked if we wanted Chocolate gravy for our pancakes. We looked at each other and eagerly said, "Sure." Not knowing what it was, but if it was chocolate it had to be good. And it was. It's basically a white sauce type gravy with cocoa powder and sugar added. My mom being from Oklahoma said it was an Okie thing. :)

My granny called your "chocolate gravy" "sop chocolate". UUUUMMMMMMMM, all you need with that is a big fat buttermilk biscuit.

They do chocolate gravy here in Arkansas, too. I thought my hubby was NUTS when he asked if I wanted some chocolate gravy! But yes, I have to admit, it is very yummy, especially with warm biscuits.

Here's another one granny did.....same granny. Grandma Beaulah dipped snuff. Some of you may know what that is, some of you may not. Anyways, all us kids thought it was so cool how granny would swirl her chewed up twig brush around in her mouth with a mound of snuff on it. So over a period of time she would save her snuff cans 'til she had enough for all of us. Then she'd take a nice twig off a bush in the yard and gnaw the end of it 'til it was nice and bristley kinda like a paint brush (with dried paint on it). She'd mix cocoa powder with sugar and put it in each individual snuff can, so that all of us could dip snuff just like her. WE WERE COOL, or so we thought. Chocolate Gravy just brought this flood of memories back. Sorry, for rambling.

Her chewing us brushes is kind of a disgusting thought now, but back then......we were just sooooo coooolllllll. Between having our own "cans" of snuff and wearing those sticky candy necklaces that we turned our soda bottles in at the local gas station for, we were forces to be reckoned with.
