G'day, Mates! :-)

Just wanted to pop in and say hi after being gone for the past few weeks! :-)

We got back from Australia late Saturday night, and slept for most of Sunday, LOL, darn that jet lag! (Over 18 hours in the air). Haven't had a chance to catch up on anything much yet, but hopefully will get to it this week--we had a blast and my new niece is absolutely gorgeous *sobs at leaving her behind*--and my in-laws had so many plans for us, we did so much during our short time there. Got TONS of pics to scrap eventually, as we visited the Sydney Opera House, and Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo, among many other touristy things. Australia is very similar to America in many ways and we really felt at home there.

Gotta go unpack some more, and try to figure out which souvenirs go where! Talk to y'all later,

Carolyne in TX :-) (Home Sweet Home!)

So glad to see you back and that you had a wonderfully busy time. I'm jealous that you got to go to Steve Irwin's zoo. I would love to go to Australia and visit his zoo.

It was, Amanda! :-)

We didn't make it far enough north to visit the Great Barrier Reef, etc. but hope to make another trip in the future to do that--3 weeks wasn't enough time to see everything! :-)

I've got to upload my pics and as soon as I get a chance (Maya's busy social schedule is back) I'll let y'all know. For now, here's a few pictures to hold you:

She loved it, Deb! Except for one traumatic incident (losing her FAVORITE stuffed animal in Sydney's train station), she had a blast and was heartbroken that we had to leave! God forbid if anything ever happens to us, but she would go to my in-laws, and I have no doubts in my mind that she would be perfectly happy to live there in Sydney and be a part of their family. Nice to have that reassurance.

I had a good time, but somehow Maya and I missed some sections of the zoo, but that's okay, we'll go again someday.

The zoo isn't like Seaworld, it's more of a teaching zoo--lots of hands on stuff, not as big as I thought it was, but still a good size. Maya and her cousin Rohan had a lot of fun, and I did too.

Thanks, M-C! :-) I had a great time, but it's always nice to come home to your own house! Moose is especially glad that we are home, my poor little velcro kitty. :-)
