Took my 11 year old to the school masquarade party and took a ton of pictures. All the kids had such a great time and their costumes were wonderful. Decided a mosaic would be a great way to use all my pictures but have never done one before. Any ideas for a shape or what... I just have no idea where to begin, how to embellish, anything. Can those of you who have done a mosaic post their ilnks so I can see and hopefully find inspiration. Also, instruction and encourage muchly appreciated and desired. Thanks!

I can offer the encouragment part! You can do it! LOL But as for the inspiration, I don't have any great ideas! Sorry. I would like to see it when it's done though.....Good luck, and glad the kids had a good time!

Melissa, I did a mosaic not long ago. It is in my webshots in the New Techniques album. I just cut regular size pictures into 1" squares for the LO I did. There are also lots of examples of mosaics on twopeasinabucket website - just type in mosaic in the search. Good luck, Sandy

I haven't done a mosiacs LO, but I'll give you any encouragement you need. :-) I wonder if there's any templates for mosaic LOs?? Kind of like there are for colorblocking LOs. I know whatever you come up with, will look marvelous!

I went to the scrapbook convention last summer, and someone had pre-made blank/white mosaic pages-here's a sample:

I did a mosaic with 1/4" squares, and every other square I used that foam double sided tape, and the next was flat adhesive, throughout. Turned out kinda cool. Whatever size the squares are on the paper, that's the size you cut your picture into. You can make your own grids with a light pencil mark and a ruler. I also marked the picture squares on the back (as I cut them apart) with letters and numbers so that if they accidentally got mixed up, it wasn't horrible trying to put them back together. Came in handy when my daughter was checking out the project and sneezed and pieces went everywhere! :-)
