Nothing is going to happen that you need to worry about (though a few trolls are fishing, however they should go away). rcs is a short version for this groups name (rec.crafts.scrapbooks) you also might see RCS or r.c.s used.

The group is not going away it will remain more ot less very simalae to what it was two months ago. You have had some scrappers leave and have had some scrappers join (alas you also got me at least for a time).

What does it mean that we are not offical ?

rec.* is part of the big-8 a managed hierarchy where some Usenet providers only honour a valid control message. This group does not have one. These means some Usenet providers will not carry this group.

I

It is very much a different language that is part of new group creation and Usenet. I am not sure how to explain to you in terms you will understand. What I can tell you is that there is no change going to happen to the group at this time and odds are if the group ever decided to support the change odds are low that it would result in any major change.

also, if you ever do find yourself with a provider that doesn't access this group, I have a private provider set up for us... just ask for the information and you will be given an account to access the group.
