As someone who has been here for about 5 years, I just want to say this: WE'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE. IF we ever do, we'll regroup and find another place, be it Yahoo or forums on our website or somewhere all together different. We've had this discussion before (I know, I started it a while back and know the response - the majority of our members like it the way it is, so that's how it should stay). This is NOT to say you can't join or create other groups, just that most of us will probably stay put. :)

I have to agree with Azzy from another post who mentioned that we've lost a LOT of good people over the years due to servers not carrying us, and in that respect, it would be nice to be official, but now is not the right time - emotions are too high and it should definitely be something WE as a group decide to do, not an outsider.

If ya'll want someplace else to chat with people and such about the NON-scrapbooking stuff in your lives, come check out the bagel! The place where you can talk all day about nothing and everything at all.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents and all I have to say on the subject. Let's get back to scrappin!

actually they are not gone because of servers, they are just somewhere else. That is if you are talking about the originals, dottie, randi, tracy, JC, Gigi, Sandy,ida, Mickie etc.

and yes, it is somethiong that should be decided as a group. I really believe that if Bob had of come in as a regular poster and stated his intrest in making this group official, i think some would have said yes. I know that i have had some time to think about it. I have also been reading new.groups everyday, listened to the pros and cons and am now thinking that becoming official is not a bad thing. It was just presented to us wrong. When it comes to this group, some of us become over protective, i being one of them! LOL

USE YOUR HEADS PEOPLE! First of all, NOBODY has the right to tell anyone whether or not they can create a forum (yahoo group) and what they can name it. Secondly, its absolutely ridiculous to insist that one NOT be made for this newsgroup. If everyone is such good friends, you should WANT a place to go to in order to escape the usenet festivities. A private place where you can not only share your work, but your personal business as well.

Oh Puh_leez! After all, you are using a big 8 hierarchy in the group name. There is not one good reason NOT to make it official.

And now is not the right time to decide? Give me a break. Emotions are too high? It's a stinkin' ng for crying out loud. Y'all got your panties in a bunch over nothing and now you need to relax? Take some prozac and come back.

Its not a hard thing to decide. Requires a poll is all. And there is no better time to decide than the present otherwise it will be dropped and forgotten.

If you have nothing NICE to say, don't say anything at all! EVERYONE that belongs to this group and is what we consider family (not you) can agree or disagree and we do not kill them for it.

Excuse me Shelley, but I'm speaking the truth. Imo, the one who stomps her feet is the one "not being nice". The one who tells their fellow posters to go ahead and create a group, but we wont visit, is the one "not being nice". But hey, if thats what you consider nice to be.....

Understand this. Many of you all have made a fool of yourselves. Some of you refuse to listen and learn. Others are trying to understand and help. And when they do try to help, what happens? They get people like Dawn coming in and stomping her feet whining... "WE'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!", and crushing the VERY GOOD idea someone else had just come up with. Someone else tells CC he/she cant use the RCS name. Who the hell do they think they are? Why cant it be named that? WHY WOULDNT IT BE?

If you're a reasonable person Shelley, you and others should be able to sit back and see that by creating a yahoo RCS group IS a good idea and by NO MEANS does that mean you have to ditch the newsgroup.

I have no reason to be all cuddly with you folks. I'm here and I'm giving you my opinion. If someone is going to act like they need prozac, I'm going to suggest it.

*sighes* seen the posts and it appeats to be culture problem. Overall the poster is trying to explain that going to a vote would not be a bad thing, that even passing would not be a bad thing. However the way of trying to get the message across is not desireable at all for this group from what I see. Even trolls and flamers are people that can have good intent, just bad habits can carry over when (in thier view) trying to do something good.
