I'm back... and I got goodies!

Last week we went to Orlando to visit my husband's family while my husband was doing a training course, and since they're not morning people I had a few hours every day to myself, and I used it to make cards. I didn't take my punches or punchies because they seemed a bit messy, but I took some stencils and coloured pencils and one of my many folders of stickers to use... the cards are in my Webshots photo album -

and the next five pictures. Here's a photo of my 'craft space' in Orlando - we were staying in John's aunt's house and she wasn't there, so I spread out over the living room.

While we were away, lots of people were moving out of the building, and leaving unwanted furniture behind them, so I scored a cream metal wall rack for my craftroom. I've been wanting to buy one, but this one was free - all I had to do was to clean the grime off it and it was good as new! I think the cats would have preferred it as-is though... they were sniffing around it and sitting on it and being generally intrigued with it when I brought it upstairs!

- cat-testing in progress. Once I had the rack in my room and all the boxes OFF the table I took the chance to bang some nails in the wall and hang up all my edging scissors. Now I'll be able to tell what I've got without groping around in the box!

Sounds like you had lots of fun and time to yourself.... !~~Yanya!~~

Well sounds like you had a great vacation! What a neat find and it fits perfectly in your space! Those cats are too cute sitting on the shelf!

Sounds to me like you were very productive while in Orlando! Nice cards, though I'd say your really scored big on the rack! LOL The kitties sure liked it

Great cards Karen. I love the dragonfly card, so pretty. The storage rack is really neat. It's always a good idea to have new things cat approved!

Beautiful cards Karen. I really like the paper folding one. It just goes to show that a true scrapper can adapt to any space or condition to be able to work/play..... Wow, what a lucky find - looks great. Sandy

I took a very compact kit with me... I wasn't sure if I'd get time to use it at all so I didn't want to take too much stuff. I was going to take my 'scrap box' but it was too big so I just grabbed a big handful of the scraps from my scrap pack, and then grabbed a handful of sheets of cardstock. And at the last moment I added one of my sticker folders

- it was a good thing I did, because I got a lot more crafting time than I'd expected to! The only tools I took were my cutting board and metal ruler and knife, four gelpens (gold, silver and two glittery ones), my scissors, a gluestick, 3D foam tape and a roll of glue dots. Oh, and three assorted stencils. My SIL took me to Joann's craft store while I was there and I bought one of their 'autumn' cardstock packs, double-sided tape, and a pack of stencils. I spread out on the couch and coffee table every morning and packed it all back up again into the box when I finished. The rack was a great find, especially since it was free! I've wanted to buy one for ages, but we don't have the money to spare.

I love being organized and nothing quite like free organization! I got a great shelf from freecycle... LOVE IT! Great find! :D

great scrap area Karen! Looks like the kitties approved of the new rack! Awesome cards too :)

Looks like you made great use of the space that you had.

Great find.. Looks great.

Wow Karen! Sounds like it was a great vacation. Your new rack looks very nice, and wonderfully organized.

Nice scrap area Karen! I really like that rack.I think its called a bakers rack. I used to have a brass one in my kitchen...hmm..wonder what I ever did with that thing. I could have used it for my scrap stuff! HAHA...enjoy your new space! Linda C Illinois
