I made it home from Memories Expo!!

I am home and unpacked, played a little bit, and I am ready to get some scrapping done!

I arrived after 4pm Thurs. in Orlando, got my room, and picked up my Expo tickets. I spent a few hours working on my 2002 and 2003 pictures - organizing the negatives and pics and index prints. I had classes Friday morning, lunch, and evening. I shopped and talked and did some make and takes - that's a lot of fun! I talked to Susan West on Friday night and she told she had been to the Cheesecake Factory. I completely forgot about calling her Thurs night so we could meet up for dinner. So she got dessert and I didn't:)

Susan, Carol W and I met up at 11:30 Sat morning and were able to get a couple pictures. Susan was off to have a celebrity lunch and Carol was ready to do some shopping and I had my last class - Passport to Papers - and it was really neat and I got some great papers. Of course, I had to go back down to Serendipity's booth and buy some - especially since they were made in Thailand!! Sylvana from Serendipity explained that Mulberry paper really shouldn't cost much more than regular cardstock because it's made in places where it is cheaper to manufacture, like Thailand. She said they pay a Thai family to make their mulberry papers and they are so thankful for the work that they took a picture of all of them holding a banner that said "Thank you serendipity" and they framed it in a nice Mulberry frame. (In Thailand, the cost of living is very inexpensive. My mom told me that she can have a made and she could make less than $40 a month and that is considered good pay. Sylvana said she had been told that to rent a 3 bedroom house in Thailand for ONE YEAR only runs about $200!!!) Anyway, they had some nice colored mulberry paper and mulberry double-sided cardstock.

I bought a bunch and I will give you the rundown later. My most favorite purchase was an Eyelet setter that is quiet and it reaches into the middle of a 12x12 piece of paper if needed!! It's called the HomePro LR tool. They had it on sale with a kit so you can do 3/32", 1/8" and 3/16" eyelets and rivets. AND you can double set your eyelets. You can set a larger eyelet and then put a smaller one in the middle of it. I will take pictures and post so you can see how smooth it looks and it's so easy - am I right, Carol?
