Is this convention worth the time?

I see they are in St. Paul this weekend, at the fair grounds. I don't mind spending $6 (or $5 with the coupon on the website) to get in the door if its worth it. Anyone attended one recently? Good vendors? Good make and takes? Worth spending a couple of hours at? Thanks for your input! Kathy

Just looking at the vendor's list would make it worth the trip for me. Don't expect much in the way of deals or sales there, but do expect to see the latest products and many you just don't see in the stores. That's the main reason I love to go to conventions - to see the new products in person and try out the new tools. Most of the vendors have make-n-takes at their booths. Some are free and some are at a nominal fee. Where else can you sit down with reps from the company and make a 12x12 LO for $2 or $3. I'd go if I could. Sandy

I went to one a long time ago at the Syracuse Convention Center here in NY when I was in college -- back in the early 1990s.

I enjoyed it and it was when I began to archivally scrapbook.

it was ok. go with an open mind.

I'd go again now that I'm addicted just to try out my "wonder ifs"

I've gone to conventions and really had a good time. It seemed like a giant Scrapbooking and Rubberstamping Mall gear just for me. I don't take classes any more as there haven't been anything new I haven't done. I still like going to the "Mall" and perusing the new stuff, old stuff and the "Make 'N Takes."

Okay, I went yesterday . . . and it was waaaay more stamping then scrapbooking. But I did find some good deals on embellishments. I also went to a free seminar by one of the CM consultants on speed scrapbooking. It was about doing multiple layouts at one time-doing all your straight crops at once, then all the circle crops, etc. Granted, it was to sell the CM system, but what she was saying really made sense and I could definitely apply it to some of the projects I'm working on now. All in all, I only spent about 3 hours up there (there were not that many booths). The MWSA show is here in November, and I know that one is big and has tons of vendors and classes.

Soooo, would I recommend this one? No, not unless you are interested in stamping. I would definitely recommend the MWSA shows. Kathy
