March/April Challenge 1 Layout completed

I've finally got one page done in the challenge. I'm not freaking out yet that I have 29 more pages to go for the challenge as it's not April yet. haha

Have you ever had a page where with the best layed plans thing kept going wrong, but you were finally able to pull it together in the end and it almost looks like you wanted it too? That's the page I have in my April Challenge 2007 album.

I tried the colorblocking technique that Sandy reminded me of. I find color blocking very hard to do. So, I thought for the month of April I would do as much colorblocking as I could and see if with more experience it might become easier.

See my page in the April Challenge 2007 Album.

Looks great, Lynne. love the colors you used - they work perfect with the photos. I've gone back to colorblocking. Did quite a bit a few years ago, then sort of moved on to other techniques. I have several templates, but I rarely use them except for the LO design. I use my own measurements based upon the size of the pictures I am using. My brother was into the Renaissance for several years while he was in the service. He moved every few years, but always found a group. He always promised he would take me to a Faire, but it has not happened yet. DS and I went to a training camp a couple of years ago as they were using the scout reservation for the weekend and allowed the boys to come visit for a day. That was fun. Sandy

Hi Sandy,

Search online for a faire near you and tell your brother let's go. We've had a lot of fun working at faire over the years. Last about 4 years we've not done many faires... in fact last year none. My son (15 1/2) has a (girl) friend at school that spends all her money on Renaissance Faire items wants him and their group of nerdy boys to go. So, now my son is really into it and is learning how to make chain maille. HA! Power of a pretty girl.

Thanks Linda. Had to do some digging through boxes I knew I had some Celtic stamps some where. They really did all a lot to the design.

Thanks Marilyn! It was fun to let the page evolve from just paper to stamping, embossing, and mulberry paper.

Thanks Tammy! It was really hard to get there. That's why I need more practice. At that rate it will take me 3 to 4 days a page. Would like to do 3 - 4 pages a night. :)

Well Lynne I think you have color blocking pretty well mastered. The page is beautiful.

What a great LO Lynne! Everything came together so nicely in the end. I would never have guessed colorblocking is difficult for you just by looking at the LO. Great job!
