My trips (a bit long, but what is new?)

The first trip I went to the parks in NJ and NY. Jacqui, WHERE was ya??!! Also Theresa Wollman, WHERE are YOU? I got away late, as usaul with my hyperactve boss an did not know how the shcedule would pan out. I hollered at you Sabrina when going thru and also Shannon in southern IN. See I think of ya'll!

I got to Cumberlan, MD the second nite, wanted to get somewhere and try to see someone. There I called m adopted brothers son who is a federal offecer there and he came and met me It was the first we had seen each other since he was 6 back i early 80's. Was a great visit.

I then got the Jackson, NJ park earlier than I thought on Sunday. Tried to get a motel in soe little town near the park thee and all I can say OMG! Did some shopping at Michael's there though.

On that Monday I had to get a set together an go up to Lake George. the mgr there wanted me to get there early as there was a big snow storm on the way. NOT!! I had trouble with the set. I got awy late in the afternoon and caught the NYC traffic. I forgot about Kate at this point as I was frustrated. I mssed my exit (NJ signs are awful and you miss one, Oh Well!) I knew I was screwed when I saw signs for GW bridge and Lincoln tunel. Damn. Then make that a double one - I became one of those aggarvating truckers who change lanes without signals. Flicking it on to make a lane change early in the travels when I discovered I screwed up, the whole thing broke off in the column. I prodded around in it for a couple miles trying to get the thing off. Let me tell ya TRY to change lanes withouta signal in rush hour trafiic - NOT!!! in a semi at least, even though people will not let ya in 99% of time anyhow!!!

So I get heading out of the mess and OH OH again. The switch broke off leaving the headlights on bright. GRRR! the truck had drl's so that worked out ok. Just outside of Albany, NY a warning light came on. I pulled over grumblig even more at the Monday gremlins and found the cooling line fitting that I told the shop here about split. I put a couple clamps on lines and limped in to the shop there. Hurry up and wait.

I made it finall that nte up to Lake George. One of my favorite places as it is so pretty there. It started snowing at 7 am on Tuesday there. The mgr came in early to try nad hurry to get the stuff we needed loaded so I could get away. NOT!!! The three hours that I was there in the park, stuck literally, it snowed two inches and it was coming down like no body's business. They were forcasting 6 to 12 inches that day for the eastern and upper parts of NY. GREAT, rotten trip gettng rottener.

I was stuck in the park because when I started to pull out up this driveway per se, the truck did not go forwards, it wanted to go sideways towards the creek. Not good. There was some contractors nearby with a big tractor. They came latched on and had to pulll me out of the park.

I made it to Buffalo late that afternoon, I ran out of the snow just west of Alban so that was a special blessing!!! I went shopping and that is where I found the wonderful yarns and stuff. The next morning (Wed) I woke up to 7*, a fresh inch of white stuff an a nice, crisp, brisk, quick WIND!!! It was going to be a COLD load out and in. Could not wait to get back home.

Ihad wanted to try and meet Jan nad Lin leaving from here but their schedule and mine just could not wotk. But maybe next time!! I will be back up there and no Jean, I did not go thru YOUR part of Ohio. FUGEDABOUTTHAT!!! You know what I mean, went across the toll road where I could drive as afst as the cars and not be harassed!!!

Got home then late on Thu and Fri switched trailers to leave for Fl. That trip i next post!! It was as exciting as this one!!!

(ogling all the FIBERS I was coerced into buyng this trip!)
