new here, plus question re vellum

Welcome!

Printing on vellum with a laser printer will usually help you avoid the smudges. Also, sometimes there is a smooth and rough side to the vellum - I think if you print on the rough side it dries better and faster. The biggest trick is just not touching it til it's dry! :)

Welcome Carmen. I use a laser printer to print on vellum. There is also supposed to be a right side to inkjet print on. HTH.

Gday Carmen and welcome ----- i usually wait for it to dry which doesnt seem to take as long as what it sounds like yours does. I also like to use vellum over the top of an image or title to soften the look. Shaz

I dust all my vellum with baby powder.. knocking off the extra.. then print useing the draft setting.. then allow to dry..I have learned.. diff vell and diff specialty paper all take diff times to dry.. ENJOY

Hey Carmen and welcome!! I think what most everyone does is just let it dry well before you handle it ! I like the looks of printing on vellum. I have experimented with vellum in lots of ways and find it adds to any layout no matter how you do it. I like the vellum tape and for small things ,I use my xyron for attaching vellum to cardstock. I use it for mats and love the way it looks torn.
