Transparency Overlay Question

I brought my first transparency overlay the other day and I have the LO on the table just like I want it - question to the group: How do you fasten them down? eyelets? Do you even fasten them down or do you just slip them into the sheet protector with the page? Help appreciated. Sandy

Sandy, I normally attach mine with brads, but that is because I normally make my own on 8.5x11. I've got a layout planned with an overlay for a book I am making for someone and I'm pretty sure that I'll attach it to the page with eyelets or something, just in case someone wants to pull it out.

I just placed the transparency over my layout, no adhesive, or eyelets necessary. The page protecter holds it in place.

I LOVE to print out my journaling on the various colored transparentcies. It looks great on a coordinated page. I attach it with a small piece of vellum tape in each corner or eyelets.

That reminds me that I HAVE to go SHOPPING for more!! (Hey after all, it is a form of PAPER!!)

nada for 05 (unless redoing or adding to some pages counts!)

Dave, I never thought about printing on transparency for journaling. Oh my!!! I wasn't planning on going anywhere except to my DS's basketball game today - now I've got to go to Michaels. Can't tell my husband I'm driving all the way to EV just for scrapbook supplies - got to think of something else - toiletpaper maybe? Think he'll buy that one? Sandy

I have used eyelets and they work well. I also did some with glue dots and then put small flowers over the glue dots to hide them. It looked really nice. You could also stitch the transparency on too.

I tried something the other day, as odd as this may seem, the scotch double sided photo tape works pretty darn well! I used a piece about 1/4 inch wide in each corner and pressed it in place and rubbed it real well. It is almost invisible! What works the best is if you cut off the jagged edge made by the dispenser when it cuts. Look at the "winter" transparency on my layout to see. Look in the upper left hand corner of it - you can almost see it and this is pretty real-to-life. Good luck!

It looks good! I can't tell it was taped. I have three different 12x12 overlays, so I'm going to try eyelets on one, brads on the other and the double sided tape on the last one. All of the suggestions were great - thanks to everyone! Sandy
