Hi All, I am new to the group and am already very excited to see another South African posted...at last someone close to home. I am a 30 something mom of two (7&5) with a hubby, two dogs and a cat. I have been involved in scrapbooking for around 4 years, but finally have broadband at home and am able to enjoy the experience of getting in touch with scrappers all over the world. I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom with a part time job in heaven (my local scrapbooking store), so I do get a fair amount of scrapping time.

Would love to hear from you all, and look forward to sharing some great ideas - please could someone clue me in on how the groups work and any protocols etc, I see some of you have published you layouts on the web which is really cool, is their a public site you can do this on, or do you all have your own pages?

Regards to you all

Welcome Andrea...you will love being a part of this group. They are all caring and sharing individuals and are very experienced at enabling LOL My name is Marilyn...I am a 54 year old Mum to three (2 boys & 1 girl) and grandmother of 5 ( 3 boys & 2 girls). I also share my life with DH (37 years married) and 11 shih tzu. Used to breed and show but gave that up now! :o) My home is Scotland.....although I did spend 7 years living in Western Australia.

Took up card-making about 3 years ago and scrapbooking December 2004 but I have been involved with many crafts since I was a child. My long-suffering DH supports my habits so I have loads of time to play with my dogs and papercraft at leisure :o) Many of the group have a Webshots account to show others their work (free or paid-for option available) You can also use Photobucket, Picturetrail or Yahoo to share your creations which you either scan or photograph, then upload to your account and post a link.

There is not much to know about how the group works as we are pretty easy going.....you just jump right in! However, there is some basic info that may help you with posting, abbreviations, etc., here at

It is well worth a tour around the RCS website which is kept up by M-C. There is also an opportunity to exhibit your challenge LO's on the RCS website so you will be able to view some already there. Look forward to getting to know more about you and seeing some of your LO's.

Take care, Marilyn

Hi Andrea and welcome to rcs! I think it's great how worldly the group is getting. I'm sure Judy will be happy to see a fellow South African here. I don't have any pics online but there are several sights where you can set up an album. Most everyone here uses webshots because it's free. We do have a website w/ a faqs page and bios of several of us etc. Unfortunately I don't know the e-addy. I'm sure someoe else does though. M-C is our webmistress and she does a wonderful job.

Hey Andrea

Welcome to a great group:>)

I used to work at our local yarn/craft/scrapbooking store too. For 6 years. But they are now going out of business, so I'm working full time at a new job that I also get lots of time to craft at, so that's cool too :>)

Please Enjoy it here:>)

Hi Andrea,

Just jump in and have fun. Very caring and fun group that loves to share ideas and enable each other to buy more Scrapbooking items. :)

If you go to the RCS website you'll get a load of info.

Welcome Andrea!! So good to see another S African !! We have all come to love Judy and hope to be adding you to our family as well ! Hope to see some of your work and hear more about you and your lovely family.

Hugs, Sabrina

Welcome to RCS Andrea! I'm sure Judy will love to see a fellow South African in the group. Most of us that post our layouts online use Webshots. I use Yahoo since it came free with our DSL service. But Webshots is free. There's another one, but I can't remember what it is. (Memory loss must be due to lack of coffee. LOL)

I'm a almost 33 yr old (and had to count that up, too!) stay at home mom of two, also. DH and I have 2 kids, one girl and one boy. (DH is happy...we have one of each. LOL) Our daughter is 7 and our son is 4 (5 in April). We're lacking in the pet department, though. LOL We love cats, but don't have one at the moment. (I'm hoping one of these days though!) I also look forward to the day I can get DH a bassett puppy like he's wanted for years. But we did adopt a guinea pig from Kenda here! I've been scrapping for 4-5 years, and I've learned so much since I found RCS. This is a great group of scrappers and crafters. You'll really enjoy it here!

Wow, we sound like we have loads in common, I will also be 33 in march, have a daughter of 7 and a son who turned 5 in October - scrapping for the same amount of time - really quite uncanny...lol

Welcome to RCS Andrea, My name is Lorilee. I have been hanging around this group for almost a year now, though I forget how many years I have been scrapping. My hobby has been paused at times 'cause Life got too busy. I am finding that it is a good stress release when things get busy to take a break and be creative. My DH supplies me with more pics than I can use. His primary hobby is photography. We celebrated our

10th aniversary summer of '05. We have 2 girls age 4 and almost 6(January birthday), no pets. I live in frigid Saskatoon. Saskatchewan, Canada. Well it's cold today but not as bad as normal for January. I have not posted much in the last few months due to busyness of life and am looking forward to the relative quiet of January to get some "playing" done. The only things in January are 2 birthdays, mine and my DD's. I'm hoping for some more cool scrapping stuff or even better a night out at a crop for my present. I'll have to keep hinting to my DH.

Welcome Andrea!! Wow! Now we have two from South Africa. That is just too cool! I'm sure we'd all love to see your work.

Hi Andrea and welcome to RCS! I am 29yrs and live in Oz with my DH, our foster son and three furbabies! I look forward to seeing some of your work and getting to know you better. luv Cec...xxx

Welcome to the group. This is the place for help and motivation. I'm from Southern Indiana, been married to my wonderful DH for 31 years. We have three grown children and two younger ones still at home (ages 9 and

13), and 7 grandchildren (with one more on the way before the end of this month). I've actually scrapbooked most of my life, but have been doing it the right way for about 7 years now. Sandy

Welcome to the group Andrea. You will have a great time here. I'm Cathy from Southern California. Hubby and I have one daughter (22) and I also work part-time at a LSS. It is so much fun to see all the new products arrive at the store isn't it!

Wow Andrea! Welcome to the group! I'm from Bellville in Cape Town. This is a great group and you'll meet lots of wonderful, friendly scrapping buddies here :) I've been scrapping for little more than a year now and are learning every day. Unfortunately I don't have that much time - mostly only weekends as I work full time. I'm 34, married and have 3 furbaby kitties. I use webshots to post my LO's. Love to see your work!

Hi Judy, we live in Assagay outside of Hillcrest in Durban, pity there aren't any local news groups as it would be great to chat with other South Africans and share all this wonderful input from these talented ladies...maybe we should look at starting something "proudly South African" - not too sure how to go about it though, but I will give it some thought.

Great to meet you

Hi Andrea and Judy,

Don't know if you have seen this site....seems fairly new but they have a forum just started

Andrea, can I mail you at the addy you use here? I can direct you to some "local sites if you like! :)

Judy, SA

Wow Marilyn! How do you do it? You really are the Link Queen! :)

Andrea that first site was the one I wanted to mail you about. I do visit there sometimes, but I prefer this format. It's similar to Google - can't delete the old posts, but on the other hand, it is local, so I guess it's worth the effort. They also have a gallery where you can upload your LO's. Unfortunately for some mysterious reason, I'm not able to upload there. Have tried zillion of times.

Thanks for the other addies Marilyn.
