News from Sabrina

Hi all! Sabrina just called me and asked me to post for her. She went in for a doctor's appointment on Friday, and the doctor wanted to run some extra tests, so they admitted her. She was hoping to be out yesterday, but they kept her so that they could run one more test tomorrow. She's really hoping to get back home after the tests tomorrow. She said she is resting well, but is really ready to get back home. She did request that her DH bring her a camera so that she could scrapbook the big event, but he just laughed at her. Silly Fred. Anyway, send warm thoughts and prayers her way that she'll be up and at'em again soon!!! Thanks, Lori Shay

Thanks for doing this Lori!!! I am now home! I am so happy to be here. I had a late discharge so just now able to get online and tell you all. I was only supposed to go for blood work and renewed RXs. I was feeling my usual breathless self and didn't think much of it. Aha! The doctor said she could not allow me to leave the office in that condition! I was just trying to compute the word "hospital" when one of the office gals came in and said we have her booked in TCU. I blinked back the tears and said couldsomeone send my husband in here? He was stunned also but they left us no choice...they kept saying I'm sorry dear but we just have to do this.I could never let you leave like this. I was a direct admit to the Unit and they were all ready for me! I was needle stuck and monitor plastered and O2 hooked up faster than you could say Dr. Pepper! This was around 10 a.m. I had been fasting for my blood work at the office,so I had to remain fasting while they did more blood. Then they checked my sugar with their machine and it hurts a lot more than mine! Had a lot of stuff "NOW" and was up and down on a stretcher so that when I got back to my room, my lunch had been delivered but was cold. Magically, a hot one appeared. I have to say I was pampered and cared for. Great hospital. Wonderful staff. The Cardiologist issuper.Lovely lady who sat by me and held my hand when I had the stress ekg and the scan. The Pulmonary doc was great..put me on O2 and is ordering it for home use after I get my tests Wednesday. That is for Sleep apenea. Going to a Sleep Disorders Clinic Wed.night to sleep on a monitor and camera!! They said I would feel so much better once I got treatment. They think a lot of my shortness of air is from that. Of course I am always tired . Well, I was so rested and taken care of that my B/P actually was the lowest it has been in years! Four days of bed rest does wonders. My arms are black and blue! I have the worst veins in the world. My I V had to be started three times. Everytime they came to draw blood for tests...they had to stick at least two times. I was a real fashion plate with my peek-a-boo back gown. My little roomie and I would check each other out when we got up to the bath room,to make sure we were not mooning the people in the hall! LOL I always get a huge gown so I can wrap it around me. Well that is enough for now. I have to go rest now.I sat down first chance I got to go online and talk with my scrap-buddies. Tried to coax Fred into bringing my camera so I could take everyone's pictures but he drew the line.He looked at me as if I had a serious mental flaw! LOL I really cracked up when my nurse said Oh! I am a scapbooker ,too! You should bring her the camera,Fred!! LOL

Sabrina you're so funny. So, glad you're home and were well taken care of. I could just see you taking a picture of the back of someone's gown. haha When I was in the hospital I wore 2. I put the second one on sort of like a robe over the first opening in the front... just incase there was a scrapbooker around. hahaha

ROTFL Lynne, I would have taken my little roomie.. she was a hoot! She is 88 years old and was a lot more spry than I.She went for a cardiac cath today and found that it was not quite as bad as they thought. They thought at first she would have open heart surgery but now it may be controlled with meds. She had lots of visitors and phone calls so I told her she could be the secretary and answer all the calls. She would answer Hallooo, Just a moment.....Sabrina... it's for youoooo. Jill and Kate got such a kick out of it and Ashley thought she was a riot! Jill had to caution her not to laugh! LOL I could have had such great pictures!! I would have had the neato guy doing the scan show me in that and x-ray and had my nurse take pictures of me being stuck by the Bloodletters! We had such a cute aide at night....David. He looked sorta like P Diddy and long legs that he pointed out were just fine for running and getting stuff for us! He was from Tennesee and had a great drawl. He was excellent. He said he worked so he could feed his babies. I may scarp it all any way. I have my little pocket that my moniter was in...it has a picture of a teddy bear holding a heart with ekg tracings on it. LOL

Aww thank you M-C ! I am really feeling up about the prognosis. I had just resigned myself that this was as good as I could get but fortuately for me , my little Doctor would not give up on me. She is younger than some of my kids so I sometimes just call her Kathleen. She came in grinning Saturday morning and said.....now that I have you in here... It is a big joke between us that I am the boss and stubborn and she has to manipulate me to get me taken care of. So she called in the Pulmonary specialist because she told me ...and told me that I could feel better ...but old hard head me ...having been Asthmatic since childhood, thought I knew it all. Now that I have had a Cardiologist, apulmonary specialest and little Kathleen all say the same thing....I am pumped up!! Looking forward to the sleep over!

YAY Sabrina!! I've been out of the house ALL day looking after a sickly Cooper, and I wasn't able to check in with you! I'm so glad to hop on and see you're back in the Highlands where you belong. I'm also thrilled to hear that they're going to get stubborn you back on the right track! You'd better listen to those doctors!! Thrilled to have you back! Lori

So good to have you back with us Sabrina! I'm so glad your sense of humor is still going too. :-) Imagine Fred not bringing your camera....gotta get those priorities straight. But I'm so glad they've found out the cause of everything. We tend to feel a lot better when we know what's going on, don't we? Just do what the doctors tell you. (I've found that's a good way to stay out of the hospital, by the way.) LOL
