Not so sweet OT posts

Feb 10, 2005 3 Replies

It has been brought to my attention that we have had more of the not so nice OT posts today. As a result, I have modified the FAQ page, which had been created by the previous webkeeper, to eliminate last names. I know it's a little like closing the stable door after the horses escape, but at least it's done.

I would like to thank those of you who understand that it is not a good idea to reply either on the NG or privately to our not so wonderful and definitely unwanted guests. A starvation diet is the best solution that we can have unless we want to become a moderated group which believe me can be a big pain. I've used my outlook filters to eliminate 95% of the problem posts and hope that you can do so as well. If any of you know of something other than outlook to use to filter out unwanted posts, please let us all know especially if it is free/shareware. Believe me, with filters on, this is a wonderful, creative place to spend time!

Here is hoping that Google, thinks of adding a personal filter to their groups, I know how bad that was while I was on the road!

It took some figuring, but I think I have eliminated my last name from my posts. At least I hope I have. Sandy

Way to go, Sandy! That is always a good policy. The less information, the better!

Marcia's post about Dave gave me an idea!!!

Marcia - you gave me an idea!

Maybe we should all post compliments about each other as a way to counter the nasty emails!

:) What do ya'll think? :)
