12 Steps For Scrapbooking Addicts

  1. Admit that you are powerless over the lure of hilarious pages, tear-jerking memorabilia, cheezy family portraits, cute comments, and sappy snapshots.

  1. Accept that using acid free/lignin free products does NOT make you a supreme being.
  2. Make a decision to ONLY take one photograph of each member of your family only once a year.
  3. Make a written inventory of your scrapbooking habits, obsessions with stickers/die cuts/cute papers, and scrapbooking website bookmarks.
  4. Share your inventory with your mortgage holder or landlord .... they will be less likely to let you get behind if they know where you are spending all your money.
  5. Accept that you must throw out all of your scraps, return the unused supplies, cancel your subscription to all scrapbooking magazines and delete your scrapbooking website bookmarks.
  6. Humbly ask album manufacturers/stores/consultants to stop luring you in. If they refuse....obtain a lawyer.
  7. Make a list of all persons you have ignored because of your addiction.
  8. Make amends to those persons except when to do so would put you in a situation that you would feel the need to take a camera.
  9. Continue to admit to others that you are indeed a scrapbooking addict.
  10. Seek new ways to entertain yourself without the help of photographs and scissors.
  11. Having kicked the scrapbooking habit, you now have hours of extra time on your hands each day and a LOT more money! Spend that time spreading the Twelve Steps For Scrapbooking Addicts and spend the money you've saved on a trip for yourself....like maybe to Australia! (You will be able to afford it now!)

Well, I guess you could call it "one thing"...I keep saving my pretty KMA papers for something special. They;re just too pretty for me to ruin with my feeble attempts at scrapping.

I was talking to my daughter the other day about wanting to get the new slab, but not having room for it. She suggested going through my paper and picking out the ones I won't use and give them away so I would have room for the new paper! I'm not sure I'm ready to part with any of my paper though.

I'm with you Cathy. I have paper that I skip over a lot, but I never think "I'll never use that."

Linda...I bought two of the Brenda Walton TSV's from QVC UK and I sent one of the little 6 x 6's albums with papers to Judy, to make a small album for her neice. The others are sitting here in a box waiting to be used...LOL

Take care, Marilyn

Well, it was more like a gift than purchased. Told DH last Christmas, "you can get me ANYTHING". I was SO excited with what I received...

He gave me 4 sheets of cardstock (red, blue, purple, and yellow) from Dick blick that are like poster size sheets. The box is as tall as my dresser. Have yet to figure out how to cut them down to a size I can actually use.

Next he got me my first crimppers...teddy bears & hearts. The kids have used them plenty of times but I just can't seem to find the "right" LO use for them. Meanwhile they get toted along with every other item I own.
