Organizing challenge.

Well had my pity party and it's time to move on. Had a lot of time to think. Had a lot of wonderful advice from you gals. Time to implement or not implement depending on the plan of action for how to deal with unruly friends. :)

My SIL asked me to go to the State fair with her last night and we had a GREAT time. She had free admission and free parking. I drove, she bought dinner. I truly felt pampered. Started wishing I had brought my camera to take pictures for a scrapbooking moment. Knew I was feeling better then. :D

Saw burnerbabes organized scrap center and thought I need to get on the ball. My scrap stuff is all over my dining room table. The extra table you know the one you hardly ever eat on. I even put all the leaves in it so it's BIG! Problem is my stuff is ALL over. I've got card making on one end, tag making on one side, scrapbooking all over. Can't find anything when I need it. So, today's plan organize one half the table. Depending on how long it takes do more. I challenge everyone to make one scrapbooking mini organizing plan.

Good luck and have fun organizing. Get some rolling plastic carts and you can move them to the table to scrap and out of the way when not.

Thanks for the challenge! I'm attempting to do a little organizing myself. right now it's mainly culling through what I have to see what I want to donate to a box to get the girls started on their dance team album. I made some progress but still have a long way to go.

Actually, my craft room is "almost "always really organized. Every once in a while, I just go through the stuff I have just to see if I really need it. It's going to soon be time to go through my cupboard of patterns again I think.I haven't even opened that cupboard except to get my battery charger the other day,for a couple of months now. Maybe time to get rid of some things:>)

I think I'm going to quit scrapbooking for awhile. I finally had my stuff all organized, and in my own "corner" of the room. And now the bookcase I have all my stuff on keeps falling over! I quit! I will never have my own space as long as I have kids. And that is fine, I'm not going to sweat it, it's just a season of my life. We all know how quickly seasons pass. I'm just a bit bummed. With all I have going on in my life (home schooling, etc.) I just don't have any time. I need to keep taking pictures, and write about them, and then stick them in the (acid free) storage box. I'll get to them someday. And if not, well, I suppose that's ok too.

Thank you for listening to me vent, and I'm going to miss you all. Bye.

Oh - a scrapper never quits, she just takes "time off". ;-)

I totally understand. its a real challenge to keep going. Just do as you said, take pictures, write it out and store them. Then when you DO have time, you can do it one page at a time.

Just ask me, Lori and Neets.... We readily admit we are the slowest scrappers in the world. You are welcome to join the slow scrappers club. So what if it takes you 2 months to get one page done. Done is done. ;-)

Just hang in there and don't forsake us completely. Lurking is acceptable! ;-)

And as for the bookcase... well, at least it didn't fall on your head! ;-) You know, if you think about it, that's actually pretty funny. You had enough scrapbooking stuff that it made the bookcase tip over. I'm sure its much funnier to me than you, but hey - life if full of laughs - it just depends on your perspective. ;-)

have a great day!

slow scrappers unite!! and one page in two months?!?! that's GREAT!!! more than i get most of the time. i really only work on things at crops.

how about bolting the bookcase to the wall? good luck, no matter....the great thing about scrapping is that it won't leave you. it'll ALWAYS be there waiting for you whenever you're ready. just do your best to stay organized so that won't be such a huge task when the time comes. lori shay louisville

Hang in there because as you say, this too shall pass. Of course then we will be reminising and saying "remember when . . . " and "oh, look how small the children were . . .", and "those were the days!"

I too should be a member of slow scrappers unite! It does not help that I am somewhat of a perfectionist and I like to 'embelish my embelishments', but I keep poking away at it and someday I may have a completed album or two.

I also have a two year old at home, so you may have to throw this pep talk back at me before too long. She does not sleep much and therefore I do not get much (any) 'me' time. I am thinking that someday she will be old enough to scrap with me, but the last time I left her alone with her daddy while I went grocery shopping she came down from our office (my scraproom) with handfulls of my little beads. She was so proud of herself, "look daddy, mommys beads". I am still cleaning them up.

Anyways, I did not intend for this to be a novel, more of just a hang in there, it will get better.

I am taking my time with my pages not getting to them all the time, but it is the only time I get to be just me. The dogs lie on the floor in my scrap room, and it is usually when DH is taking a nap and DS is at school or grandparents house. I work night shift and sleep most of the day. So when I get to my scrapping I really enjoy the piece and quiet.
